Our Journey

From The Beginning.

Phase 01

Foundation of IMPunjab

Innovation Mission Punjab was conceptualized in 2020 as a strategic response to the growing migration of entrepreneurial talent outside the state. A Group of Experts chaired by Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia recommended the formation of a structured innovation mission to reverse this trend and build a sustainable startup ecosystem within Punjab.

Phase 02

Launch & Ecosystem Building

Officially launched on September 1, 2021, Innovation Mission Punjab operates as a public-private partnership headquartered at Kalkat Bhavan, Mohali. Backed by government support and private sector champions, the mission began building structured accelerator programs, mentorship networks, and institutional partnerships to strengthen the state's innovation framework.

Phase 03

Acceleration & Capital Access

Today, the mission focuses on three core levers Pollination (mindset and ecosystem building), Acceleration (structured scaling support), and Capital Access (venture funding). By enabling founders with infrastructure, mentorship, and funding pathways, IMP drives long-term economic growth through innovation-led entrepreneurship.
